Germans hogging the sunloungers? Poll finds Italians and French are worse

A YouGov poll of European holidaymakers reveals a surprising gap between stereotype and practice. While fifty-one percent of Germans and forty-six percent of Britons surveyed believe Germans wake early to reserve sunloungers, the perception barely exists elsewhere in Europe — just five to seventeen percent of other nationalities share it. Italian and French travelers, per the polling data, are actually the ones most likely to reserve sunloungers with towels or umbrellas.
