Iconic WA whitewater course shortened to avoid 'running race'

The iconic Avon Descent whitewater race in Western Australia has shortened its course. Low water levels prompted organizers to cut seventeen kilometres from the route, per ABC News Australia. The change prevents competitors from having to run with their kayaks along the course.
