US pledges $1 billion security aid to Colombia as Trump-endorsed president takes office

Colombia's right-wing President Abelardo De La Espriella was sworn in, pledging to combat narco-terrorism in his inaugural address at a military garrison in Cali. France 24 reports that De La Espriella, known as 'The Tiger,' is receiving one billion dollars in security assistance from the Trump administration.
