Senate passes funding bill to prevent shutdown through US midterms

Per the Guardian, the Senate passed a government funding bill with overwhelming bipartisan support—the vote was ninety to six. The continuing resolution funds the government at current levels through December eleventh, extending past the midterm elections. The House still needs to approve it.
