Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia have signed a new defence agreement. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says it's technically equivalent to NATO's Article Five mutual defence clause and will feature a ministerial committee structured like NATO's. A general secretariat will be based in Saudi Arabia. Fidan says it does not target Iran, and Egypt could eventually join once the parties work through outstanding technical issues.
