Blue Origin working engine resolutions and dual pad future

On May twenty-eighth, Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket exploded during a static-fire test at Cape Canaveral, destroying the booster and second stage. Per NASASpaceflight, investigators traced that failure to the main oxygen valve on one of the seven BE-four engines powering the first stage. The company determined that only small modifications to the valve are required, rather than a complete redesign. Updated valve hardware is already in production and expected ready by the end of August, and those fixes can be retrofitted into existing engines. Blue Origin is targeting a return to flight before the end of twenty twenty-six once the launch pad itself is ready. The company is also rebuilding with a new operational approach—stages will now be assembled horizontally and lifted into vertical position by crane, eliminating the need to rebuild the destroyed transporter-erector and supporting higher launch cadence. At the same time, Blue Origin is constructing a sister pad to support a much larger New Glenn variant: the nine-by-four model, standing nearly one hundred twenty meters tall compared to the current configuration's ninety-eight meters. With nine engines on the first stage instead of seven, the new variant is designed to deliver approximately seventy metric tons to low Earth orbit.
