National Indigenous Music awards 2026: Baker Boy wins big, including album and song of the year

Yolŋu hip-hop artist Baker Boy won three major awards at the two thousand twenty-six National Indigenous Music Awards: album, song, and film clip of the year. His sophomore album 'Djandjay,' named in tribute to his late grandmother, earned the album honor, while his single 'Thick Skin,' featuring Indigenous artists Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee'ahn, and Jada Weazel, won song and video recognition. The Guardian reports that other major honorees included Birdz and Fred Leone as artist of the year and Drifting Clouds as best new talent.
