Argentina's Pumas fell seventeen to ten to South Africa's Springboks at home. Per Buenos Aires Herald, the Pumas dominated early with a ten to three lead, but the Springboks stormed back to tie it by halftime and take the lead seventeen to ten in the second half. Last-play heartbreak came when Matías Moroni was unable to secure a pass that would have tied the final score, leaving Coach Felipe Contepomi's team to face Australia on August twenty-ninth.
