Utah wildfire blocks rescuers from reaching firefighting helicopter crash site
world
A firefighting helicopter has crashed in a remote part of central Utah, and the fate of its two passengers remains unknown more than twenty-four hours later. The Guardian reports the Sikorsky S-64 aircraft, under contract with the US Forest Service, went down Friday morning while responding to the Widemouth 2 fire, a blaze sparked by lightning in late July. Rescuers have so far been unable to safely reach the crash site as the wildfire continues to grow.
