"Children of Blood and Bone," an adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's African fantasy novel, is coming to the screen as a film directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Thuso Mbedu. Per Variety, at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival's opening night, the filmmakers shared never-before-seen clips and discussed bringing the story to life. Prince-Bythewood called the author a "genius" and remarked that films like this rarely get made.
