Vance says talks 'make progress' but Iran must make long-term changes
world
US Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that negotiations with Iran have made progress in recent days, according to Middle East Eye, but Washington is focused on one critical question: whether Tehran will make the fundamental long-term changes necessary for better relations. Vance says the United States has already destroyed Iran's nuclear program, severely weakened its conventional military, and greatly reduced its asymmetric military capabilities. The central question now is whether Iran will accept the deeper strategic shifts that Washington sees as necessary. If not, Vance said, the US will continue applying pressure and increase energy extraction from the Middle East to lower American gas prices.
