Per Polygon, a stage play called Game of Thrones: The Mad King is in development, directed by Dominic Cooke and written by Duncan Macmillan. Set during the reign of Mad King Aerys, the production covers the tournament at Harrenhal and the events leading to Robert's Rebellion. The play arrives seven years after the Game of Thrones television series ended.
