In win for Trump, US Supreme Court paves way for mass deportation of Haitians and Syrians

politics

The US Supreme Court has backed the Trump administration's effort to strip deportation protections from hundreds of thousands of migrants. The decision affects approximately three hundred fifty thousand Haitians and six thousand Syrians currently in the United States, effectively ending their ability to seek asylum through the courts. According to France 24, one of the three dissenting justices noted that race played a significant role in the decision to revoke temporary protected status for Haitian migrants. Legal experts are describing this as a major turning point for immigration policy in America.
