Ben Jones, Actor Turned Politician Who Played Cooter Davenport in ‘The Dukes of Hazzard,’ Dies at 84

Ben Jones, the actor who played mechanic Cooter Davenport on "The Dukes of Hazzard" before serving as a U.S. congressman from Georgia, has died at eighty-four. Variety reports his wife, Alma Viator, announced his death in a Facebook post, saying he died Sunday of a heart attack.
