The Guardian reports that Hong Kong has officially recorded its highest temperature ever. The Hong Kong Observatory confirmed the city reached thirty-six point nine degrees Celsius on Sunday—the highest temperature since records began in eighteen eighty-four, more than one hundred forty years ago. Typhoon Dolphin swept warm air over the region, driving the intense heat.
