Revival of SME credit
business
Pakistan's banking sector has crossed a milestone in small and medium enterprise lending. SME loans surged thirty-seven percent in fiscal year twenty twenty-six, breaching one trillion rupees—one point zero four six trillion—for the first time ever, according to Dawn. At ten point six six percent of all private business loans, they've already exceeded a State Bank of Pakistan policy target set for twenty twenty-eight by two full years. The growth reflects a broader pivot in credit toward smaller businesses and agriculture, where lending has accelerated most dramatically.
