Typhoon Dolphin: more than a million people evacuated in China as record rainfall dumped on Shanghai

Typhoon Dolphin has made landfall in eastern China, and more than a million people were evacuated by Sunday evening as authorities braced for flooding and landslides. The Guardian reports Wenzhou in Zhejiang province relocated over nine hundred thousand people and opened more than fifteen hundred emergency shelters, while nearby Fujian moved almost ninety-nine thousand residents from high-risk areas. Officials warn the danger isn't over, with days of heavy rain expected as the storm pushes further north and inland.
