Malaysia PM Anwar Ibrahim undergoes elective surgery to treat hernia

Per Dawn, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has successfully undergone elective laparoscopic surgery to treat a hernia. Now seventy-nine years old, he's in physiotherapy under medical team supervision and expected to remain under observation for two days. His doctors report the recovery is proceeding well. The PM has experienced recurring shoulder and back problems; in January, he received a clean bill of health.
