Astrolight, ATMOS Space Cargo eye first in-flight laser link between reentry vehicle, satellite

Astrolight, a Lithuanian space laser communications company, and ATMOS Space Cargo have signed a memorandum of understanding to attempt the first in-flight laser link between a reentry spacecraft and a satellite, SpaceNews reports. Optical laser communications are already being tested in orbit, and attempting this link during a spacecraft descent would extend the technology to a more demanding environment.
