AWS Weekly Roundup: AWS Heroes Summit, Web Search on Amazon Bedrock, Dogwood, Kiro Crew, and more (August 10, 2026)

Per AWS News Blog, the company hosted its annual Heroes Summit last week, bringing AWS experts together for technical sessions and collaboration. Amazon Bedrock now integrates OpenAI's latest models—including GPT-5.6—with real-time web search, allowing AI applications to access current information while keeping data within AWS. AWS expanded Lambda bandwidth to three thousand Mbps, added vector search to DynamoDB for AI agent memory retrieval, and made its Transform tool generally available for automating technical debt remediation. The company open-sourced Dogwood, a governance language for AI agents with temporal policies, and announced Agent Plugins, an open standard for portable agent extensions. It also launched Kiro Crew, a persistent multi-agent workspace where development efforts can run in parallel or be handed to subagents.
