Vitamin B12 corrects developmental defects in Verheij syndrome worm model

Phys.org reports that scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Aging have discovered that vitamin B12 can correct developmental defects associated with Verheij syndrome, a rare genetic disorder involving disrupted RNA splicing. Testing in roundworms, the team found that the genetic disruption impairs metabolic processes that depend on vitamin B12.
