DESI releases biggest 2D map of the universe

The DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys team has unveiled the most comprehensive 2D color map of the universe yet created, per Phys.org. The map contains five point six trillion pixels and catalogs nearly four billion celestial objects—mostly stars and galaxies. Researchers and the public now have free access to the complete dataset through the online Legacy Survey Sky Viewer.
