Play WAV sound effects on an ESP32 via I2S
dev_tools
Adafruit Blog reports on SoundEngine, software for playing WAV sound effects on an ESP32 microcontroller. It mixes multiple clips together in the background without blocking your sketch — each sound has individual volume control, and a master gain sits on top of them all. The MIT-licensed tool is available on GitHub and requires Arduino-ESP32 core three-point-zero or later, plus an I2S digital audio converter like the MAX98357A.
