Europe's deadly heatwave breaks German record and halts public events

According to the BBC, Europe is in the grip of a deadly heatwave. Germany has recorded its highest ever temperature today: forty-one point three degrees Celsius in Saarbrücken, near the French border. The extreme heat is severe enough to halt public events across the region.
