Govt leaves petrol, diesel prices unchanged for Aug 11
business
Per Dawn, Pakistan's government held petrol and diesel prices stable for August eleventh. Petrol remains at three hundred twenty-seven point six two rupees per litre, while high-speed diesel stays at three hundred eighty point eight six rupees per litre. The freeze came after Platts prices weren't published on August tenth. This steadiness offers a reprieve from months of volatility sparked by the US-Iran conflict that began in February. Diesel prices have dropped from a peak of five hundred twenty point three five rupees in April, though the government continues to levy one hundred fourteen rupees per litre in taxes on petrol and one hundred rupees on diesel. The government recently shifted to daily price adjustments based on global market swings, a move that sparked pushback from Pakistan's fuel dealers association.
