Trump says Iran must pay compensation for those it has killed and wounded

Per Middle East Eye, US President Trump said he will demand Iran pay compensation for people killed and wounded in roadside bombings and military conflicts. His demand comes as Iran has insisted the United States must offer compensation and lift sanctions before reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway critical to global shipping. Trump cited the October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen, which killed seventeen sailors and wounded more than three dozen others, and also called for compensation to the families of Iranians killed during January's anti-government protests.
