Over 100 people dead after magnitude 7.4 earthquake hits Colombia

A powerful magnitude seven point four earthquake struck central and western Colombia on Monday morning, and El País reports the death toll has now risen past one hundred. The quake lasted four minutes, beginning at seven thirty-four a.m. local time, according to the Colombian Geological Service, which placed the epicenter in the rural, mountainous municipality of San José del Palmar in the Chocó department.
