Yen erases gains after US-Japan intervention

The Japanese yen's brief rally from a joint US-Japan currency intervention is already fading. Per Semafor, it strengthened to one fifty-five per dollar following the historic move but has since slipped back to one fifty-nine, erasing about half its gains. Currency strategists say sustained strength will require more than a one-time intervention — they're pointing to the need for stronger policy action, with markets currently pricing in a fifty percent chance of interest rate hikes from the Bank of Japan.
