Contiguous U.S. broke its record for hottest month ever in July, NOAA says

Per NOAA, the contiguous United States experienced its hottest month on record in July, with hotter-than-normal temperatures across the Lower 48. The most excessive heat was concentrated in the Mountain West, Southwest, Northern Plains, and Southeast, though Alaska was unusually cool.
