US strikes Iran in response to drone strike on commercial ship

According to Al Jazeera, the United States has struck Iranian military targets in response to a drone attack on the commercial vessel Ever Lovely in the Strait of Hormuz. The strike represents an escalation in tensions over one of the world's most strategically vital shipping passages, through which roughly a third of global maritime oil flows.
