Victoria's premier, Ben Carroll, says his government will ban convicted rapists from using suppression orders to hide their identities in court, if re-elected in November. According to The Guardian, Carroll and attorney-general Sonya Kilkenny plan to amend the state's Open Courts Act to close what they call loopholes currently exploited by high-profile accused and convicted criminals.
