Ten persons injured by pellets during youth protest march to Parliament, shows RTI response

According to Scroll.in, an RTI response shared by Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale shows ten people were treated for pellet injuries after a youth protest march to Parliament in Delhi on July 20, with Lady Hardinge Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital among the facilities reporting cases. Delhi Police initially denied using pellet guns, but The Hindu reported on July 28 that a Rapid Action Force diary entry indicated pellets were fired on an officer's orders, marking the first known use of pellet guns against unarmed protesters in Delhi. Two of the injured, Prashant Kumar Singh and Sheikh Irshad Mansoor, have since petitioned the Supreme Court seeking a ban on pellet guns for crowd control. Gokhale said he is still awaiting responses from AIIMS and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, on Monday.
