A maker named nicolas-dot-ma has built an audio modem system that lets your smartphone function as a full keyboard, Hackaday reports. You type text into a mobile web browser, which converts it into a series of audible audio pulses. Those pulses travel to a custom device built around an Arduino Micro—which decodes the audio and transmits the text to a computer as standard USB keyboard input. The system includes integrity checking and link monitoring to keep the audio signal reliable. The creator has already used this setup to build a password manager, turning a creative workaround into a practical tool for bypassing smartphone software restrictions.
