Dust and water spotted close to giant black hole

Using the James Webb Space Telescope, an international team of astronomers has discovered something surprising, per ESA Space News: dust and water can form and survive close to Sagittarius A star, the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. The evolved star IRS 3 continues to enrich its surroundings with newly formed material despite the intense radiation environment there.
