Russian lawmaker Vitaly Milonov claims he killed people while fighting in Ukraine

State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov told blogger Amiran Sardarov he personally killed people while serving as a senior gunner on an MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun positioned two to three kilometers from the front line during Russia's war in Ukraine. Milonov, who volunteered in October 2022 and says he was later wounded, defended the killings as a soldier's duty. He also confirmed receiving the Order of Courage but declined to detail the citation, calling it classified, Meduza reports. Milonov, who sits on the Duma's family affairs committee, is running for reelection in St. Petersburg this fall.
