Cyberattack on logistics giant CEVA delivers customer data into the wrong hands

The Register is reporting that a cyberattack on CEVA, the France-based logistics giant operating more than a thousand warehouses worldwide, has disrupted European facilities and exposed customer data from clients including Valve, Bol, De Bijenkorf, Ajax, and banking giant ING. The attack hit eight European warehouses and compromised customer names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and details of hardware orders—potentially enabling targeted phishing attempts. Valve, which uses CEVA to ship Steam hardware in Europe, notified affected customers but clarified that payment information, passwords, and security codes were never exposed because CEVA doesn't retain that data. However, CEVA has yet to publicly disclose how attackers broke in, how much data was stolen, or how many companies and individuals were impacted.
