Utah governor orders ban on fireworks as wildfires rage across state

According to The Guardian, Utah Governor Spencer Cox declared a state of emergency yesterday as wildfires swept across the state. He announced a temporary ban on personal fireworks through July fifth, suspending a twenty twenty-four law that had previously prevented the state forester from restricting them in cities. The action comes as unprecedented wildfires have forced evacuations, including in Eureka, roughly eighty miles south of Salt Lake City.
