Turkish officials suspect that an Israeli intelligence report claiming Iran planned to assassinate President Trump was fabricated, according to Middle East Eye. The alleged threat surfaced during the NATO summit in Ankara last month, when US officials warned Turkish counterparts of the Iranian plot. Turkish security increased deployments to protect Air Force One. Per Middle East Eye, Turkish officials believe Israel manufactured the report to derail negotiations with Iran.
