FDA-approved drug may finally help immunotherapy defeat rare liver cancer

health

Researchers have figured out how a rare liver cancer evades immunotherapy — it lures immune T cells away from the tumor and traps them in nearby fibrous tissue. An FDA-approved drug called AMD3100 can free those T cells and redirect them back to attack the cancer. In tumor samples, this combination significantly boosted immunotherapy's effectiveness. According to ScienceDaily, the discovery could offer a new treatment path for this otherwise difficult-to-treat disease.
