Less than 2.5% of Taylor Farms' recalled lettuce went to Taco Bells

health

A new FDA enforcement report finally details where Taylor Farms' recalled lettuce actually went, and Taco Bell wasn't the main destination. The shredded iceberg, sourced from Mexico, has been at the center of a Cyclospora outbreak that Ars Technica reports has sickened over twenty-three thousand people across forty-seven states, killing two and hospitalizing more than five hundred. Of the two hundred thirty-six thousand one hundred ninety-two cases Taylor Farms recalled, only five thousand nine hundred, just under two point five percent, went to Yum Brands locations like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC. The remaining ninety-seven point five percent was distributed elsewhere, a detail that comes after Taylor Farms reportedly delayed its recall and had resisted disclosing shipment details.
