Solar eclipse in Spain: A guide to the astronomical event of the year

Spain will experience a total solar eclipse this summer — an astronomical milestone the Iberian Peninsula hasn't seen in over one hundred twenty years. Per El País, the last such eclipse visible from mainland Spain occurred in nineteen oh-five; an earlier one passed over the Canary Islands in nineteen fifty-nine. For many Spaniards, it will be an extraordinary phenomenon they've never witnessed before.
