Killer Mike Is Beefing With A Youtuber, For Some Reason

Aftermath reports that Killer Mike, the Atlanta rapper and founding member of Run The Jewels, released a Red Bull Spiral Freestyle this week that included subliminal disses aimed at F.D. Signifier, a Black YouTube educator who has spent years critiquing Killer Mike's "Black capitalism" philosophy. Signifier has released multiple video essays critiquing Mike's approach to economic empowerment and community development—including one specifically titled "The Problem with Killer Mike." In the freestyle, which also featured T.I. and his son Domani, Mike made bars referencing his wealth, his direct line to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, and his view that online critics lack the real-world capital or influence to matter. The feud between the two has been simmering for about three years, rooted in their fundamentally different visions for how Black artists should leverage their power and resources.
