Who (or What) Generates Images for EFF?

ai

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is drawing a line on artificial image generation—at least when it comes to their own work. Per EFF Deeplinks, the organization has adopted a policy to create images exclusively through human designers, with rare exceptions. Their reasoning spans three key areas: designers bring expertise informed by years of work with lawyers and technologists, which helps clarify complex issues; human-created visuals reinforce their brand's commitment to authenticity and trustworthiness; and they avoid potential copyright entanglements that could arise from AI-generated imagery. Going forward, EFF is adding credits to banner images marking them as human-created, and any rare instances where generative tools appear as elements in larger illustrations will be explicitly disclosed.
