Murad vows action over police, medico-legal lapses as Mir Raza murder probe progresses

The investigation into the murder of Karachi businessman Mir Raza has moved forward on two fronts. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah told reporters that any lapses by police or medico-legal authorities would be addressed once the case is resolved, and clarified that a proposed judicial commission would only review those lapses, not conduct the murder probe itself — a plan the victim's family had initially agreed to before asking that it not proceed. Dawn reports that two more officers have joined the police investigation team at the request of the family's lawyer, and that a chemical analysis from the first post-mortem found traces of acid and gunshot residue on the deceased's shirt. Separately, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has summoned four people over a complaint from Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who says social media posts falsely linked him and his son to the case.
