Thousands in south-east Qld without power after attempted copper theft

According to ABC News, a power outage affecting thirteen thousand residents in south-east Queensland was caused by an attempted theft. Someone broke into a substation cable pit and attempted to cut through an eleven thousand volt cable, leaving customers without power overnight. Police are investigating the incident.
