SC declines to interfere with Calcutta HC order denying TMC access to bank accounts frozen by ED

Per Scroll.in, India's Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to interfere with a High Court order keeping the Trinamool Congress's bank accounts frozen. The Enforcement Directorate had frozen three TMC accounts as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and financial irregularities within the party. The High Court had refused to grant the party interim access to the accounts but noted it has sufficient other funds for operations. The Supreme Court agreed the decision was balanced and said it would not intervene while related proceedings remain pending.
