According to Variety, Warner Bros. Animation is expanding its adult animation slate beyond comedy. The studio announced a new animated series reimagining the classic nineteen-sixties cult show Dark Shadows at the Annecy festival this week. The project, in early development, will be led by Lisa Holdsworth, creator of the British series Dreamers. The move signals that Warner Bros. is betting on adult animation as a serious production category across multiple genres, not just comedy.
