Rare IBM PC Brought Back To Life

Hackaday is spotlighting the restoration of a rare IBM 7496 Executive Workstation from the late nineteen eighties. The machine has a striking design, with the monitor mounted on a swivel—but it wasn't working when restorer Epictronics acquired it. He fixed a failing floppy drive, added hard drive support with an XT IDE card, and installed an AdLib compatible soundcard. Though it features the obscure MCGA graphics system, the fully restored machine can now handle a solid library of games and software from its era.
