France evacuates hundreds as new wildfire threatens southwestern Landes region

Authorities evacuated five hundred twenty-five people from the village of Luglon on Friday as a wildfire tore through pine forests in southwestern France's Landes region. France 24 reports the blaze has burned eleven hundred hectares and advanced to within a few kilometres of the village centre amid what officials are calling an unprecedented wildfire season.
