Cop martyred, another injured in terrorist attack on police post in Bajaur

A police post in Bajaur district's Kohi Sar area came under attack early Friday, with terrorists using rocket launchers and small weapons, Dawn reports. Officers returned fire in a battle that stretched on for hours, ultimately repelling the assault. Constable Zahir Shah died from his wounds while being taken for treatment, while the other injured officer, Head Constable Amir Zada, is said to be out of danger. The attack adds to a sharp rise in militant violence across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where recorded terrorism-related deaths more than doubled in July compared to June.
